Addante, who previously created airports for FSDreamTeam, is a talented developer and an excellent addition to the Orbx team. LSZB Bern Airport is situated just outside the Swiss capital of Bern and offers stunning views of the surrounding Alpine scenery.
The airport sits at an altitude of 1,640 feet (500 meters) above sea level and has a single 1,730-meter-long runway (14/32), capable of accommodating aircraft as large as an Airbus A320. The airport is home to a small terminal building and serves as a hub for Helvetic Airways, a Swiss regional airline that operates seasonal flights to various European destinations.
LSZB Bern Airport also houses the air transport service of the Swiss Air Force and Rega, the Swiss air rescue organization, which operates a Eurocopter EC 145. The airport’s location presents a unique challenge to pilots, with a couple of circle-to-land approaches to runway 32 that require precision and skill.
